Helping to Make Your Videos Better . . .
My music has been used in thousands of YouTube, Facebook and Instagram videos with a combined millions of views. With a few exceptions, you can use my music in your videos for free. You can also monetize the videos and keep any ad revenue. Here's how:
1. Download for Free
Choose the song you want from my SoundCloud page. To download the song, either click on the "Free Download" button (which redirects to Free Music Archive) or, for other songs, download directly from SoundCloud.
I appreciate donations, usually $5 per use of my song. This isn't mandatory however. Use the song for free if you want. If you want to help support my ventures, on the other hand, send me an email at [email protected] and I'll direct you to my PayPal account.
2. Credit Me in Your Video's Description Box
If you use one of my songs in a YouTube video, you are required to credit me like this in the video description: Music by Evan Schaeffer, https://soundcloud.com/evanschaeffer. Including the name of the song is optional.
You can also use my music in other social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, etc), and podcasts. In these cases, credit me in the video or podcast description as shown in the previous paragraph.
If you want to use my music in other ways and are confused about how to credit me, just send me an email at [email protected]. If you can't credit me for some reason, you can also purchase a license to use the music without a credit. Email me for a price list.
Further Questions, Answers, and Details
1. Why Do You Give Away Your Music?
I give away my music because I am getting something too--the promotion that comes when someone sees your video and learns about my music. As stated above, I also appreciate it when people buy my music from iTunes, listen on Spotify, or give me a donation. Making consistently good music requires a lot of time and expensive gear!
2. Can I Monetize My Video on YouTube?
As noted above, you can monetize videos that include my music and keep the ad revenue for yourself.
3. Are There Exceptions to the Free Use of Your Music?
Only a few--
a. If you're a music supervisor or are inquiring for a corporation or other business entity, please contact me for licensing information at [email protected]. (Note: some of my songs are free, even for film, TV, and advertising.)
b. If your YouTube account has more than 750,000 subscribers, please contact me for licensing information at [email protected]. (Note: many of my songs are free, even for gigantic YouTubers.)
c. If want to use the music for other unique purposes (wedding videos, in-house corporate videos, etc.), please contact me at [email protected] and I will send you a song list and pricing guide.
4. Are There Other Places to Hear Your Music?
To listen to my music, I suggest the following sites--
a. My SoundCloud page, the only place where I upload ALL my music.
b. My page at Free Music Archive
5. Thank You!
Thanks for your interest in my music. As for you video-creators, keep up the good work! I love to watch your videos and your stuff is awesome!
